NormanMax Insurance Holdings, the US headquartered parametric insurer and reinsurer, has appointed industry veteran Nick Burkinshaw as Chairman of the NormanMax Syndicate 3939 Advisory Board, supporting the firm’s pure parametric global syndicate in the Lloyd’s marketplace.

normanmax-parametric-logoBurkinshaw, a well-known and highly respected underwriting leader in the market, brings over three decades of global insurance market expertise towards his new role.

Throughout his career, Burkinshaw held the role of Active Underwriter for Catlin Syndicate 2003 at Lloyd’s, and subsequently took on the position of Chief Underwriting Officer at Apollo Syndicate Management.

“The NormanMax Syndicate 3939 Advisory Board has been established to support the continued development and scaling of NormanMax’s parametric underwriting strategy,” NormanMax explained.

In addition, the Board will also be expected to provide guidance on underwriting discipline, capital efficiency, portfolio management, and long-term performance as the syndicate expands its footprint across the globe.

Through its Lloyd’s Syndicate 3939 and affiliated managing general agents, including NormanMax Insurance Solutions and FloodFlash, NormanMax primarily focuses on delivering innovative risk transfer solutions across catastrophe and specialty risks worldwide.

NormanMax also noted that both the creation of the Advisory Board and the appointment of Burkinshaw as its Chairman, is a reflection of its commitment to combining innovation with proven underwriting expertise as the company continues to expand its presence across global insurance markets.

“Nick represents the underwriting discipline and market credibility we believe is important as parametric insurance scales. His decision to chair our Syndicate Advisory Board reflects both the strength of our platform and the opportunity ahead,” commented Brad Meier, Chairman and CEO of NormanMax Insurance Holdings.

He added: “We are building a different kind of insurance business that combines traditional underwriting rigour with scalable, automated AI data-driven parametric solutions. Nick’s experience will be instrumental as we continue to grow.”

Nick Burkinshaw, said: “NormanMax is building something differentiated in the market. The combination of data-driven parametric solutions and Lloyd’s distribution creates a compelling platform for long-term growth. I look forward to working with the team as they continue to develop a disciplined and scalable underwriting approach.”
