Hyundai to Recall About 294,000 Vehicles Over Seat Belt Anchor Defect

Hyundai Motor America is recalling 294,128 vehicles in the U.S. due to a defect that could cause seat belt anchors to detach, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Friday.

Here are some details:

  • The recall covers Hyundai Ioniq 6, Genesis G90, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid vehicles, the NHTSA said.
  • A detached seat belt anchor may fail to properly restrain an occupant, increasing the risk of injury in a crash, according to the auto regulator.
  • The agency said that dealers will inspect and reinforce or replace the seat belt anchors, as necessary.

General Motors Recalls Over 270,000 Cars Over Rearview Camera

General Motors is recalling 271,770 cars in the U.S. over an issue with the rearview camera, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said April 8.

Here are some details:

  • Recall includes Chevrolet Malibu sedans, NHTSA said.
  • The rearview camera screen may display a distorted or blank image, reducing the driver’s view behind the vehicle, according to the NHTSA.
  • The agency said that dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera.

Ford Recalls Over 420,000 Vehicles for Windshield Wiper Failure

Ford Motor is recalling 422,613 vehicles in the U.S. over a failure of the windshield wiper, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said April 7.

Here are some details:

  • Recall includes Lincoln Navigator and Ford Expedition SUVs, as well as some F-series trucks, NHTSA said.
  • Windshield wiper arms may break, causing the wipers to fail, according to the NHTSA.
  • The agency said that dealers will inspect and replace the wiper arms.

Volkswagen Recalls Over 75,000 for Faire of Instrument Panel

On April 1 Volkswagen said it is recalling 75,323 cars in the U.S. over an instrument panel display failure, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

Here are some details:

  • The recall includes certain Jetta and Taos cars, the NHTSA said.
  • The instrument panel may fail to display warning lights or gauges, according to the NHTSA.
  • The agency said the vehicles’ dealers will update the instrument panel software and replace the panel as necessary.
