Westfield Specialty Launches New UK/Europe Liability Portfolio, Hiring 2 Execs From Everest

Westfield Specialty International has expanded its casualty offering by launching a new UK and Europe liability portfolio, appointing Keith Knight, class underwriter, and Andy Skinner, deputy class underwriter, to lead it.

Keith Knight

This launch marks an important step as Westfield continues to build out across specialty lines and expand its presence in the European liability market, following the establishment of its company market operations in Luxembourg at the end of 2025, Westfield said. The UK and Europe liability portfolio will underwrite a broad range of liability risks, supporting clients operating across multiple jurisdictions and legal environments.

“At Westfield, we have the appetite and capacity to take on new risks to grow our book, and the launch of the UK and Europe liability portfolio is a key step in that strategy,” commented Ross MacDonald, divisional director, Casualty and Portfolio. “Our aim is to build a portfolio that grows sustainably, balancing profitability with disciplined risk selection, and that starts with investing in the best talent – this is exactly what we’re doing.”

Andrew Skinner

MacDonald said Knight and Skinner are highly experienced figures in the market, with deep technical expertise and a track record of providing high-quality service. “This makes them ideally placed to lead this portfolio as we diversify into geographies that traditionally sit outside Lloyd’s, providing greater flexibility to our broking partners.”

Keith Knight joins Westfield Specialty International from his role as deputy head of International Casualty at Everest, while Andy Skinner most recently served as head of UK & Ireland Casualty at Everest.

Westfield Specialty is a specialty insurance carrier, which leverages the financial strength of Westfield, a leading U.S.-based property/casualty insurer established in 1848, and Lloyd’s of London Syndicate 1200. Westfield Specialty currently underwrites in the U.S., U.K., Europe, and Dubai.
