Anthropic PBC’s artificial intelligence chatbot Claude and related consumer-facing applications went down on Monday, with the startup saying it has been grappling with “unprecedented demand” for its services over the past week. Nearly 2,000 users had reported Claude AI service disruptions at the outage’s peak around 6:40 a.m. New York time, according to service-monitoring website Downdetector. Complaints had dropped to a third of that by 8:40 a.m., but Anthropic said in a statement by WhatsApp that “consumer-facing surfaces” such as claude.ai and the company’s apps remained unavailable. Temple issued the order after determining Andersen and his New Orleans-based company, Andersen Design + Build LLC, violated state insurance and unfair trade practice laws by allegedly doctoring inspection records to apply for a new license while his current license was revoked. According to the Louisiana Department of Insurance, Andersen presented two fraudulent certificates of insurance showing proof of…

Families of Idahoans with disabilities say their lives could be upended as lawmakers in the state’s Republican-dominated legislature mull sweeping cuts. Services at risk include the 24/7 care that allows a 39-year-old with cerebral palsy to live independently; the in-home caregiving that lets a 26-year-old with brain damage from a hemorrhage at birth stay in his family home; and private duty nursing for a 19-year-old with cerebral palsy who has qualified for hospice care for complications including pulmonary decline from a spinal cord injury. Concerns for such care arose when Idaho Gov. Brad Little, a Republican, proposed cutting $22 million…
