IICF Northeast Announces Gavlick of Jencap Group as Board Chair

Sarah Gavlick

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping communities through grants and volunteer service, named Sarah Gavlick, executive vice president, Carrier Relations and Client Distribution at Jencap Group, as chair of the IICF Northeast Division board of directors.

Gavlick has 30 years of underwriting, marketing and distribution experience, following 19 years at Markel, where she led the wholesale division as regional president – Northeast, chief territory officer – East and more recently, chief retail officer nationally.

Gavlick’s elevation from long-serving IICF Northeast Board member to head the division as its chair follows leadership roles on the Northeast Executive Committee, most recently as vice chair, as well as membership and annual benefit dinner committees.

Lawley Grows Employee Benefits Division

Lawley, headquartered in Buffalo, New York, expanded its employee benefits and business insurance divisions, adding Kirsten Bergstrom as an employee benefits sales consultant in North Haven, Connecticut, and promoting James Marotta to employee benefits sales consultant in Buffalo and William Lawley III to insurance advisor in the business insurance division.

With 25 years of industry experience, Bergstrom joins Lawley to drive new business growth and deliver tailored insurance. In her role, she develops and executes business plans, analyzes plan performance, and identifies cross-sell opportunities.

Marotta specializes in rate and renewal analysis, employee benefits, group health insurance, and benefits technology. Marotta has previously served as both an employee benefits analyst and a temporary sales support professional at Lawley, gaining hands-on experience across the benefits lifecycle.

As an insurance advisor, Lawley evaluates the risks facing each client and develops customized coverage plans aligned with their goals. He brings prior experience as a business development representative and personal insurance intern at Lawley, as well as positions as an account executive and underwriting account representative.
