Icosa Investments AG has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Raffaele Dell’Amore as a Partner and member of the firm’s management team. In this role, he will lead the continued expansion and institutionalisation of Icosa’s offering, with a particular focus on catastrophe bonds and insurance-linked securities (ILS).

raffaele-dell-amore-icosa-investmentsWe reported on May 14th that Icosa was adding the ILS and cat bond investments specialist as a new Portfolio Manager for its growing Icosa Cat Bond Fund strategy later this year.

Icosa has now confirmed Dell’Amore’s appointment as a Partner at the company, with his official start set for July 2026.

Dell’Amore brings over 15 years of experience in ILS and cat bond portfolio management, with a proven track record of overseeing multi-billion-dollar mandates.

He began his career in 2009 as an actuarial analyst at reinsurer SCOR in Zurich, before joining Deloitte in 2011, where he spent nearly two years working in financial risk management.

In 2013, Dell’Amore became a Senior Risk Specialist at Secquaero Advisors AG, a firm specialising in ILS management. Subsequently, this company was later acquired by the asset management group Schroders, where Dell’Amore served as a portfolio manager for its private ILS strategies from 2015 to 2019

Dell’Amore then moved to another specialist manager, Twelve Capital, in 2019 and spent almost two years serving as its Head of Private Insurance-Linked Strategies and as an Executive Director.

He then went on to work as Managing Director and Global Head of ILS Research at Cambridge Associates (formerly SIGLO Capital Advisors AG). In this role, he was responsible for ILS manager selection, portfolio construction and allocation across ILS mandates totaling more than $2 billion in assets.

For selected Swiss institutional clients, he also acted as an outsourced CIO directing investment decisions and providing investment advice on ILS portfolios with a combined value of approximately $1 billion.

“His expertise spans portfolio construction, risk management, and the development of tailored investment solutions for institutional investors. Florian Steiger, CEO of Icosa Investments, and Dr. Dell’Amore have a long-standing professional relationship, having previously worked together at Twelve Capital. Florian Steiger served as Head of Cat Bonds, while Raffaele Dell’Amore was responsible for the Private ILS Strategies,” Icosa said.

Florian Steiger, CEO, Icosa Investments, commented: “Raffaele is an outstanding addition to our leadership team. His deep expertise in ILS, combined with his analytical mindset and proven ability to design and manage large-scale mandates, will significantly strengthen our platform and the service offering to institutional clients.”

Dell’Amore added: “I am excited to join Icosa Investments at this pivotal stage in its development. The firm and its partners have built a compelling business with strong foundations and significant long-term growth potential. I look forward to further strengthening its institutional capabilities and delivering tailored solutions aligned with the evolving needs of sophisticated investors.”
