Hint, a self-described “home management platform,” has launched with a $10 million seed round of funding and the original influencer of all things having to do with the home.

Well-known multimedia mogul and businesswoman Martha Stewart has co-founded Hint with home services veteran Yih-Han Ma, who is the CEO, and artificial intelligence entrepreneur Kyle Rush, Hint’s chief technology officer.

According to the announcement last week, Hint will be an “AI-native home management platform that is a single, trusted interface to manage and optimize every facet of the home.”

“While the home is the largest financial asset for most people, it is often managed reactively, through unexpected costs and fragmented decisions, rather than with foresight and strategy,” Hint said. “The future of home management is dynamic, agentic, and continuously working on behalf of the homeowner.”

Nowhere in the press release is homeowners insurance mentioned but it is on the radar, according to Ma.

“Hint is focused on helping guide homeowners through every decision, proactively looking for ways to help homeowners save money and reduce risk. Being protected with the right homeowners insurance policy is an important part of homeownership and a good example of how Hint can deliver tangible value to the homeowner,” Ma said in an email to Insurance Journal.

Ma said more details will be shared this summer when Hint officially starts operations on desktop and for iOS download, but its goal “is to help homeowners navigate insurance with confidence as a trusted advisor whose interests are fully aligned with the homeowner.”

“Similar to our approach with other home decisions, we aim to make insurance research and shopping easier with hyper-personalized recommendations, help homeowners organize and better understand their existing policies, track important dates like renewal windows, and proactively alert homeowners to opportunities to save and/or better protect their homes,” the CEO continued.

The $10 million seed round is led by Slow Ventures, with participation from Montauk Capital, which incubated Hint through its venture studio platform. Tusk Venture Partners, Amplo, Energy Impact Partners, Hannah Grey VC, and Brian Kelly, founder of travel website The Points Guy, are also investors.

Stewart’s website said Hint “pulls together details on your property and location, including your climate zone, soil, flood risk, and more.”

“I have always been passionate about showing people how to care for and beautify their homes,” Stewart said in a statement. “Hint brings that philosophy to more people, making the knowledge and expertise behind thoughtful homeownership accessible to everyone.”
